Wandsworth Lifelong Learning is part of Pan Out, a European funded project, which sets out to present career opportunities in hospitality and catering in a whole new way.
Through Pan Out we will be connecting leading industry employers directly with Wandsworth schools through 18 pilots. Each pilot will seek to inspire and equip young people in the borough to know how they can enter the sector and prosper through a long-term career.
Coming up soon is an event that will bring a number of partners together in a different way. On October 17th 2017 the Wandsworth Education Partnership awards will take place at Ernest Bevin College. Organised by the Wandsworth Education Business Partnership (also known as BEST – Business and Education Succeeding Together) – approximately 140 people will be attending the event and attendees will include local employers, young people and their parents, teachers, councillors and the BEST Board.
The event is going to highlight the Pan Out project and there will a film featuring some of the amazing employers participating.
Bringing an extra special quality to the event will be London Cocktail Club. They will be working with students at the college to produce delicious ‘mocktails’ for all the guests and participants. Similarly, former Masterchef finalist Daksha Mistry will be working with students to produce a delicious buffet for the evening. Both of these incredible employers have been so generous in sharing their experiences of working in the hospitality industry. The evening is clearly going to be a big success!
So….it’s all happening in Wandsworth and we are so fortunate have so many employers offering careers guidance, work experience and skills training to our young people.
