English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
Accredited and non-accredited courses at all levels
ESOL courses are aimed at learners who want to improve their speaking, listening, reading and writing English skills. They will help you to develop and improve everyday communication skills and enable progress into employment or further learning. Courses are delivered in in a friendly and safe environment in the classroom and online.
We offer the following courses:
Conversation Classes:
This course is for learners who want to develop their conversation skills. We focus on different topics each week to help you to practise using the English language. Learners will develop their vocabulary, gain confidence and progress on to a non-accredited course at the most suitable level.
Basic Literacy:
We offer basic literacy classes for beginners, Intermediate and upper level learners. Learners will gain confidence, improve their skills and progress on to a non-accredited course at the most suitable level.
Non-Accredited Introductory Courses:
These courses are offered at four different levels. Learners will start at the most suitable level that matches their current ability and progress to an accredited course
Accredited ESOL Courses:
for those progressing from non-accredited introductory ESOL. These courses are delivered at four different levels and successful learners will achieve nationally recognised qualifications in reading and writing English.
There are no entry requirements, applicants will be given an interview and Initial assessment before the start of the course to determine their level of ability. They will also be given Information advice and Guidance to placed on the most suitable course.

VENUE:
These courses are delivered from the Gwynneth Morgan Centre in East Hill. Some sessions may also be delivered online via Google Classroom.
These courses are free for those who meet all the following funding requirements :
– you have lived in the UK or EU for at least the last three years or you are a family members of a UK/EEA national and fulfil certain requirements (discussed at your assessment)
– you live in a London /Greater London Borough
– you are not in full time education
– you have not achieved this qualification before
– you are aged 19 or older on 31st August 2021
*All Ukrainian adults and their family members supported through the Ukraine Family Scheme and Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme are immediately eligible for FE 19+ funding and are exempt from the 3-year residency requirement as per the current AEB funding rules.
