Hospitality Focused Customer Service Awards – Level 1

This hospitality-focused accredited programme is designed for people who are already working in the sector or are looking for employment there. It provides the perfect opportunity to take your skills to the next level or to prepare yourself for a new career pathway by learning the essential skills to establish yourself as a customer service professional.
This course content includes:

- Customer expectations
- Communication (good and bad)
- Questioning, listening & body Language
- Consumer rights act 2105
- Turning complaints to opportunities
- Internal and external customers
- Creating the wow factor
There will be assignments and a test to complete, with some self-study required.
You must be able to attend all online sessions.

What You Need to Know
Prior to enrolment you will need to undertake an initial assessment in English where you must achieve a minimum result of E3.
To complete a course successfully and achieve the associated qualification, you are required to complete weekly self-study exercises or assignments between lessons.
Food Safety Levels 1 & 2
Are you working in a catering environment where food handling plays a crucial role? You may not be directly involved in high-risk food preparation but require essential food safety knowledge and skills. Whether you are a bar worker, waiting staff, healthcare worker, kitchen porter or storeroom staff, this course is tailored to support your career growth and ensure that you excel in low-risk roles in the industry.
This course is designed to enhance your employability and opportunities within the competitive catering industry. With our expert guidance and training you will be equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to handle food safely and maintain high standards of hygiene.
Content includes:
- The importance of personal hygiene
- Keeping work areas clean and hygienic in a catering environment
- Personal responsibilities for food safety
- How to keep food safe in a catering environment
Qualification on Completion:
Certificate in Food Safety Levels 1&2
N.B Completion of the Level 1 course is required for progression to Level 2 unless you have sufficient prior experience in the hospitality sector. This will be discussed with one of our advisors after registration for Level 1.

These courses are free for those who meet all the following funding requirements:
– you live in a London /Greater London Borough*
– you are not in full time education
– you have not achieved this qualification before
– you are aged 19 or older on 31st August 2024
-Have permission to live in the UK for at least 12 months and the VISA is valid for the duration of the course
If you don’t have permission to live in the UK for 12 months there are exemptions which can be discussed with the IAG advisor who will contact you.
