Why Elshena Enrolled for the Course
For Elshena, working in a school had always been an interest, but she wasn’t sure where to start. She wanted to understand the role of a Teaching Assistant in primary schools and gain the confidence to apply for school-based support jobs. That’s what led her to enrol in the Support Teaching and Learning in Schools Level 2 course.
“I wanted to equip myself with the confidence to apply for school-based support jobs,” she explained. Elshena knew she had the passion, but needed the knowledge to take that next step.
What Impact Have They Had on Her?
As the course progressed, Elshena discovered just how many opportunities existed within the school environment. She gained insight into the different support roles schools rely on and realised she had more options than she initially thought.
“My options within schools now feel a lot wider,” she said. “I am now considering the possibility of work within the school office, which I had not thought possible before undertaking this course.”
Beyond learning about the roles themselves, the course gave her a strong understanding of school legislation and management, making her feel more prepared for a future in education. More than anything, it gave her confidence.
“I now feel ready to take on further school-based work and training within a supportive role,” she said.
Advice for Others
Elshena encourages others to consider the course, describing it as an excellent opportunity to gain a qualification that proves suitability for working in schools.
“The course was delivered professionally in a decent time frame, with an experienced teacher who had a genuine passion for our professional development,” she said. “You get to learn so much and come away with the knowledge and confidence you need to apply directly to the schools of your choosing.”
For Elshena, what started as an interest has turned into a real possibility for a fulfilling career in education. With new knowledge, skills, and confidence, she’s ready to take the next step and encourages others to do the same.
