Understanding Autism Level 3 – Distance Learning
Understanding autism requires specialised knowledge and skills to provide effective care and support. This Level 3 course is designed to equip participants with a deeper understanding of autism, including key frameworks, current legislation, and practical strategies for support.
By taking this course, you’ll gain the confidence and expertise to create positive change, whether you’re a caregiver, educator, or professional working with individuals on the autism spectrum. Through practical learning, you’ll develop the skills needed to build inclusive environments and provide meaningful support.
The objectives of this programme include:
- How to adopt a positive approach to supporting individuals with autism.
- The current legislative framework relating to individuals with autism.
- How to support and manage transitions for individuals with autism.
- The range of therapeutic interventions and support available for individuals with autism.
- How to support communication and social interaction for individuals with autism.
- How to develop an understanding of how individuals with autism vulnerable and the support worker’s safeguarding responsibilities

You must:
- Be aged 19+
- Not live in one of the regional authorities below:
– Cambridgeshire and Peterborough
– Greater London Authority
– Greater Manchester
– Liverpool City Region
– North of Tyne
– South Yorkshire
– Tees Valley
– West Midlands
– West of England
– West Yorkshire
- Have not already achieved a Level 3 or above qualification (this includes A-levels and degrees) in the UK. Please note if you earn under £25,000 you are eligible for funding even if you already have a L3 or above qualification.
A fee paying option is available if you do not meet this criteria.
