Wandsworth Council Lifelong Learning is excited to announce the launch of the Learner of the Year Award 2024, a campaign dedicated to celebrating the achievements of adult learners in our community. Starting on 4th November, we’ll be showcasing inspiring stories from our nominees across social media, with the campaign culminating in the announcement of the winner on Friday, 8th November.
The Road to Personal Achievement
This award recognizes the resilience and determination that each of our nominees has shown on their learning journeys. These individuals have come from a variety of backgrounds and have pursued learning with Wandsworth Council Lifelong Learning for different reasons, yet they all share a common commitment to personal growth and achievement.
Our nominees bring a range of experiences to their studies. Some have sought to improve their English skills to open doors to new opportunities. One joined an apprenticeship programme to gain hands-on experience in their chosen field, while others have aimed to develop new skills to advance their chosen careers, overcoming personal and practical challenges to get where they are today.
The Spirit of Lifelong Learning
Each nominee’s story reflects the spirit of lifelong learning: the willingness to keep growing, no matter the obstacles, showing us that it’s never too late to pursue new skills and knowledge.
Throughout the week, we’ll be sharing videos that explore each nominee’s journey, highlighting their achievements and the impact that lifelong learning can have on individual lives.
We hope you’ll join us on social media to follow the stories, cheer on our nominees, and celebrate with us as we pay tribute to these exceptional learners.
