‘Look Local’ during National Apprenticeship Week

Launching during National Apprenticeship Week, Wandsworth Lifelong Learning will be running a social media awareness campaign titled ‘Look Local’.

In a time where everyone is feeling the impacts of lockdown restrictions and the pandemic, we wanted to highlight the role we can all play in supporting a generation of young people looking for work. Apprenticeships are a fantastic route for many young people and, as employers, we can make a real difference by getting involved.

Over the next fortnight we will be showcasing some of the talented young apprentices we have supported in recent years and reminding businesses what they can gain from employing an apprentice. It is a difficult time. By looking local, we can build futures and give the next generation a chance.

As well as fully embracing National Apprenticeship Week we will be looking to support other programmes that will enable young people to access valuable experience and employment. Wandsworth Lifelong Learning will also be participating in Kickstart and Traineeships, which provide other routes to building valuable work related experience and skills.

Over the next fortnight, we’re hosting two Apprenticeship Q&A sessions for people to find out if apprenticeships are right for them or their business. More info here>>

We have worked with many capable and talented apprentices, supported by excellent local employers and mentors. We will be showcasing that work in our communications over the next few weeks to inspire the apprenticeships of the future.
