BREW (Building Enterprise and Resilience in Women) is a scheme run by Wandsworth Council’s Lifelong Learning Team. BREW offers free advice and training to women over 50 on how to start or grow their own business.
The role of BREW is to develop entrepreneurial and digital skills, underpinned by coaching in resilience, confidence building and motivation. It was launched earlier this year during Wandsworth Enterprise Month and the first event was attended by around 65 women, who heard presentations from several successful female entrepreneurs.
The next networking event will be held on June 19 2019, and will be led by Hilary Farnworth, who has extensive experience of supporting women of all ages in business.
The council’s cabinet member for skills and employment Cllr Jonathan Cook commented: “the launch of the BREW scheme proved how much untapped talent there is in Wandsworth. We will do all we can to make the borough a friendly and supportive place for women who want to start a business. This event will be a chance to meet like-minded people and get support to take the next step.”
The June 19 event will be held at the Wandsworth Professional Development Centre at Burntwood School, Tooting from 11.45am-4pm
BREW project is funded by the European Union Erasmus+ fund. Run in partnership across Europe. To find out more visit www.BREWproject.eu
